Linking on the web and the internet is becoming more complex as the range of types of link needed to drive various applications, documents and data sets increases. One of my concerns is that the robustness of links is at risk, this article seems to echo this concern. This is unfortunate as the web was originally build on the premise that (at least documents) could be linked in a robust way – potentially forever. Commercial drivers appear to be putting this idea at risk, and I agree with the article – it needs to be sorted.
