This blog tells a story about an encounter between the author and Stephen Hawking early one morning at an ATM machine. It gives a feel for the thoughts non-disabled people can have regarding how other people are behaving when they don’t have all the information regarding the other person’s capabilities. It also gives a feel for how disabled people can lever off their disability sometimes to get an advantage in some situations, in this case using the speed of the wheelchair to get to the front of the ATM queue.
