This article makes quite a good case for the payment of photos when people wish to download them from the web. It is a complex issue and, if nothing else, the article raises some of these issues and raises the question – if someone is taking photos for a living what would be reasonable payment for an image? Many people expect internet content to be free and are reluctant to pay; they may settle for an inferior image if it will meet their purposes. This is compounded by the fact that there are millions of images to choose from; how do you decide what makes one image better than another. It will be sometime before these issues are resolved!
